Windows-specific enhancements
Visual Studio Integration
- View Flint output directly in Visual Studio and/or
- Load your entire project into the Flint GUI to access call tree and xref
When you install Flint, four External Tools are automatically loaded onto the Tools menu of
Visual Studio. Running Project Setup extracts the sourcefile list (skipping files Excluded From
Build), include directories, defines/undefines, and controls also relevant to Flint analysis (e.g.,
"Fixed Form Line Length" of 132 in an Intel Visual Fortran project enables Flint's -e option).
Then you can analyze a single file or the entire project, view the results in the output window,
and double-click on a message to show the "offending" line of code in the VS editor!
But that's not all! Project Setup also extracts that information to a Cleanscape GUI project
file, meaning you can easily run call tree and cross reference reports and view the results
in the GUI, where the diagrams are better formatted than is possible in VS' output window,
plus you can click on any GUI hyperlink to jump to the relevant source line in Visual Studio!
Code Signing Certificate
All executables, including the installer, are now code signed. This extra level of security means
you can be confident you are receiving what we intended - virus-free analysis code!
Code signing is also important to help eliminate antivirus false positives. While no customers
have reported issues, a Cleanscape employee encountered executables being blocked by
Bitdefender. If Flint does not run correctly, please check your antivirus logs and notify us.
To verify any executable (including the installer) is code signed,
- View the file in Explorer
- Right click on the icon, then select Properties
- Click on the Digital Signature tab, and verify Cleanscape Software International is the signer.
- To view or install the certificate,
. Click on the "Cleanscape" line
. Click the Details button
. Click View Certificate.
Note: Version 7 contains a demo version which does not require a key! This means easier
installation and instant access for our evaluation users. Once you purchase, you simply run script
ConvertToFull - no need for another download! - for full access to all analysis results, but requires
an activation key.
